Well I spent a good portion of the day at Manards, HomeDepot and local Hardware stores
looking for "Peel 'N Stick" not to be found round here. I did find a product by Quick-Fix called "Protecto Wrap" Its 6" wide, 1/16"thick foil on one side, smells like tar and says its made from an asphalt base. Is this the stuff you all are talking bout for sound deadener? I would be a little worried bout the smell, especially on a hot day.
I stopped by a buddy’s house today who worked in the construction trades. He gave me a roll of a product he says, the guys call “Manhole Wrap”. It also is 6” wide, but its thicker, than the HomeDepot suff, its about .110”, it has black plastic backing on one side instead of the foil and it does not smell of tar. It looks like it might be a some sort of rubber product, and it also is sticky on one side, ya peel of the paper and slap it on. It’s used a seal the joints in concrete sewer connections. Anyone ever heard of this product? I think it would work great as a sound deadener.
