I used a similar product from my local aluminum supply house. The product was about 4" wide and had a smooth white vinyl surface on the non-stick side. It is used to seal the exterior seams on large, prefabricated aluminum panels that are used for roofs on sun rooms. The 4" stips were easy to maneuver inside of the doors...I tried the 12" stuff from Home Depot....hard to work with and really strong odor.
The vinyl-faced stuff has not peeled in the 100+ temperatures, there is no odor and best of all, it works to take the "ring" out of all sufaces I taped. This includes the overhead and back of cab.
I would highly recommend it and at $13./roll (1-1/2 rolls did everything inside the cab) you can't beat it. Hope this helps!
