My advice to you is find a set of used ones. I ordered new latches for my 48 and I spent 2 days trying to get them to work with no luck. The problems that your describing sounds like what I went through. I had to put my old ones back on cuase I couldn't figure the news ones out. Phoned the company were I ordered them from and was told that I was the only one that has ever complained about the latches and that it was my fualt why they didn't work. Good luck!
