Two piece rim is the correct term here like you said. Split Rims have a ring that is split and is more dangerous than a Two piece rim. I have the original two piece rims and they were a huge pain to get the old tires off. They had been on since th 70's and there was alot of rust. I bead blasted and painted them and hope they come of easier next time.
