$3000 is actually pretty cheap to have a mechanic install a crate motor. Prolly installing a rebuilt one for that money. Shop your craigslist. You should be able to find a good engine for less than $500. You could get a cherry picker for $200 or rent one for less. You will have that old girl back on the road in a week! Good Luck
