sounds like John's talking about the primitive PCV tube [road draft tube] at the back of the block, the oil filler is in the intake, not the block
the question is what the heck ya doin putting a 55 265 in a 62 truck? the 265 is inferior to the 283, and there should be 283's available around you, which would be the correct engine for yer 62
