Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | Just a thought....I just checked the position and angle of the 1985 mechanical speedo versus the 1993 electronic speedo. With the tranny in the position it would be when mounted to the engine the electronic speedo hole sits at about a 40 degree down angle...pointing directly at the center of the output shaft. The mechanical speedo hole is on a horizontal plane...which would have the small speedo gear meshing with the bottom of the gear on the output shaft.
I took a couple pictures of the tailshafts... I'll add them to the last page of my webshots. That should give you a better idea of what to look for. Hope this helps you sort out the trannys.
