I am in the process of planning a disc brake upgrade to the front of my '63 which should vastly improve my stopping power, but I would also like to improve the rear drums. The brakes on my truck are not self adjusting and I would like to make them that way. I've thought about just ordering rear drum parts for a later model truck and putting them on my '63, but don't know if they will all hook up right. Do I also need to change the backing plate? Any ideas?
