Bill - looks like someone lost the top for the air filter and replaced it with a pie pan!
definitely not the original top, tho the base looks like it prolly is -
here\'s an original oil bath Lumbergh - nothing whatever unsafe about the original glass bowl fuel filter, they work fine if installed properly and the element lasts quite awhile if you slosh it off and clean the bowl when you see dirt -
plastic burns, glass doesn't
