It can be done, and so long as the tank stays between the frame rails, it's generally safe enough. However: It is just as safe with you in the cab. just don't mount it behind the differential or get saddle tanks. That's just asking for badness.
If I recall correctly, all of the various threads were in this forum and in the engine and driveline shop. | | |
