the rack has to be mounted to frame,,,rack has to be solid and non moving as it is coupled to the steer column and shaft,,tie rods take care of movment..a rack will work with a straight axel very well just install it correctly and you are in busniess..you will have to do home work as to the rack that fits your needs...doc
