The guy who has the truck now said that it was a 283 and that it was the original motor. I will have to check for the oil filter when I get it to my place. Actually, I have about 10,000 questions about the truck.lol I will have many late nights researching stuff in past threads. Even though I don't have it home yet, I keep looking at old trucks going down the road and try to guess what year they are. I saw an Apache on the freeway today, but didn't look as old as a 57. It had a "20" on the fender with some other script, but couldn't tell...
