I have decided to rebuild the 350 in my storage shed instead of using my freinds 292 for the motor swap in my 59 chevy panel. In searching for a good rebuild kit for the 350 I noticed a few 383 kits for about $200 more. I know the 383 will require a 400 balancer and flex plate but I was wondering if anyone could relay any experiences good or bad in building or running a 383 smallblock. Some of my concerns are reliability, gas milage and overheating. The smallblock will be connected to a th400 and 3.07 geared 10 bolt from a 73 truck. This will be a long distance driver.
