I have seen other 1 tons from the 30s thru even the early 50s that had 18 inch tires. Dodge is the earliest I have seen to use the more standard 16 inch arrangement. These skinny 18 inch tires do give the truck a neat look and a 16 inch wheel will not fit over the rear brake drums. The at least lets me know the rear end housing is original.
