One thing that always helps me when bleeding brakes is to pump the pedal several full strokes and then just "tickle" the pedal down a little bit. Look for the tiny bubbles to come from the bottom of the resevour. Then pump again and repeat. If you just start the stroke of the pedal real slow, it will let the air out.
