41-46 (and early 47's) had the same beds. You can put a bed off of an AD on it with some fairly minimal modification. (My truck came with one on it). The AD bed won't be "correct", but if you don't care about that, then it should be fine.
As for other styles of beds, Flat beds and utility beds work, but I can't speak to how much modification you'll need.
