The 53 never lets me get bored. Today I got the engine to turn completely over but is a little stiff. Good sign. But the oil had some booger stuff in it and a little water. Not good.
So, I went out and looked at the truck. I have the box and front fenders off. On the rear axle one side had a plate on top. Only one side. I looked in the 47-54 assembly manual and saw nothing of the sort. What is it? Should there have been these plates on both side? And were there springs on top of them? The springs are mounted on the bottom of the axle like it shows in the book.
