I have to agree with Alan, I've sunk about $6,500 into my Bolt, ($2k of which was purchase and shipping)... If I have a part that I don't need then I'll try and sell it to recoup some of the money I've put in... and it sure would be nice to be able to tell my wife that I made a few bucks.
If you think that someone is trying to take advantage of you then you've always got the option to just say no.
On the other hand, I had a bench seat frame with springs and all that I tried to give away... no takers so it went to the dump.
