Ya know, Red.. I was thinking as I looked at the way those strips sit on the wood that they probably wouldn't do much more than offer a place for moisture to collect.
Your tounge & groove bed floor looks pretty good to me.. and probably mighty durable, too.. not to mention the tounge & groove design prevents moisture from sneaking in between the individual boards.
