I don't think its either of those Tony for you cannot hear the sound if you're at still and rev the engine which the 3 ideas you suggest are defineately engine related which I think one would be able to hear while revving. The sound only appears if the truck is moving and the sound is not what I call a constant sound. It's sporadic.
Each time I hear it, it seems to be coming from the back of the engine, that's why I keep looking towards the clutch or maybe tranny ?
