The oldest son and I were working on stripping some parts off of the donor Blazer yesterday.

We also have a donor Chevy van. It is a IRWIPI 12 years ago - freebie that I figured we might get something useful out of so we towed it home. I was curious as to whether or not it would actually run, so I hooked up a set of jumper cables, poured a little gas in the carb and cranked it over.

Wouldn't you know it, it sparked to life. It sat there running on 12 year old gasoline for about fifteen minutes, then I threw it into reverse and it actually moved, so I put it in drive and it moves forward as well. I am totally amazed!... I didn't even lube the cylinders first!

We might end up using the tranny for the 57 Panel, and the engine will probably end up in the swap meet eventually. (its a six cylinder...250?...I think)
