Get rid of the tags and registration, then get a len title on it. Just say a guy left it at your place five years ago and he owes you X amount of money and you haven't heard from him and you don't know how to get in touch with him.
Try to find someone that does len titles and they will do all of the paper work for you.
PS. They will have to look at the vin #.
