I've been talking to a certain Indiana gent from here on the Bolt that was stationed in the UK with the USAF in the '70s. Now I knew that my '66 was brought into the country new by the air force and sold on in '72. When I've been stripping the paint down I've found that the first coat is bright yellow so asked this learned fellow what sort of work the truck would have been involved in. He informed me that it would have been the 'follow me' truck and that if it is the one that was used on the Lakenheath air base, only a few miles from where I live, that the bed was a real compfy place to take a nights rest after an evening quaffing strong British ale. It's a crazy thought to think that we are all these thousands of miles apart and have never met but he has maybe driven my truck and even probably thrown up in it. Has anyone else on here been behind the wheel of my '66 and if you have why didn't you give it a squirt of rust retardent every now and again to help me out now?
Andy
