You have to ask yourself, it's been sitting for 6 or 7 years, are you really going to fix it up? Another thought, put it up for sale and see if you can pull more than $500. I already have many sentimental items, but all of them are of no real dollar value. Photographs, marbles, stamps, etc, etc. Whatever we say ultimately doesn't mean squat.
