When I was a kid my dad wouldn't let me drive the car until I was 15. But my grandfather would let me drive the old Chevy farm trucks as long as I could see and reach the pedals. I always liked the AD's and the mid 60's C-10's. I had restored and refurbished a couple of old Harley's but had never tried a truck.
A friend of mine bought a 1951 1/2 ton Chevy and I was bitten by the bug. I first bought a 1958 Fleetside and trailered it back to Illinois. I must have gotten a pretty good deal on it because someone made me an offer and bought it from me before I even got it home. I liked it but not as well as the AD's or the C-10's. My friend said if I could ever find a 1955 1st series I should get it. I waited almost a year and found one last week. Now I'm going to start my first truck project.
