Hey Slow rider,
I recently placed a new 235 into my 49 Chevy truck, and when we got it running, it did the same thing. I did all the same things you did, and just couldn't figure out why it missed when we reved up the engine. The coil was the only thing I hadn't replaced. I put a new coil on it, and it solved the problem. Just a thought!
