Your local post office now has Flat Rate Priorty Mail boxes (2 sizes). Free box and $7.70 to mail it Priorty Mail (max weight 70 lbs). This is great for those smaller metal parts. So I get my father-in-law to send me some of his tools that he is no longer using. The box is 8.5 x 11 x 5.5 and he puts 21 lbs worth of vise grips and welding magnets in it and mails it to me in AK (from CA) on Monday, I got it on Thursday
I took the box to work and had it weighed to see what regular Priorty Mail would cost......$38.10
How can you beat that? Now we just need to figure out how to get the parts houses to use them when possible.
