Dutch,I could not find that figure on the hydramatics.In 1954 Chevy made 170,824 units under 5000 lbs GVW,and 64,599 between 5000,lbs and 10,000 lbs.Seeing as this was thw first year for automatics in trucks I would think that very few were sold.Most people buying trucks back then were using them for work,and most people did not think the auto.was very strong.I bought a book a few years ago that has given me a lot of info on Chevy trucks.It is Chevrolet Pickups 1946-1972 by John Gunnell.A lot of good info.Should be available on Amazon or local book stores.
