Yes, I am in carburetor hell. I very carefully laid out on a sheet of white paper all the parts I took off my carb, in the same order that the shop manual shows them in the exploded view... well....while I was blowing out the passages in the carb, I must blew a spring off the table and it is hopelessly lost somewhere in the garage! I also lost the only spring in the rebuild kit that might be able to replace the original lost spring. (this is very embarrassing...)
I lost the power valve assembly spring, which is shown in the 1965 shop manual on page 6M-12 in the exploded view as part of group 11. I am rebuilding a Rochester Model B manual choke.
Question: Is this spring included in the rebuild kit? The old spring did not match exactly the spring I lost from the kit. The original has straight sides, and the kit spring tapers down at both ends (I have the KEM brand kit).
Question: if the power valve spring is not included in the rebuild kit, where can I get a power valve spring?
Question: I found a spring that fits in the assembly, but will it work?
This is so ridiculous... any help would be appreciated....
