Sounds like you got a handle on it Chip. As a matter of fact since there isn't any roller thing goin on there like some believe, for all practicle pourposes you could probably make the leathers square as long as they slid free in the channel. The ID is kind of important cuz ya don't want them fitting to loose and the thickness needs to be pretty close or they will be to tight or to loose in the channel.
