Hi everybody, as you can tell from my posts I am working on the interior of my 52. As I was removing the passenger side old windlace, I noticed that about two feet had come loose from the spot welds. I don't see any way to re-spot weld the thin metal of the channel back, so I guess plug welding is the answer (unless somebody has a better way). So I have a twofold question, 1 is plug welding the best answer to my problem, and any suggestions on a mig/tig welder to do the job. I am fairly good at arc welding. And as much as I would like to purcahse a Hobart, Lincoln, or Miller welder I can't afford 3 grand for a tool for my hobby. So 2 any suggestions for a shade tree welder? Any suggestions or observations are welcome, Jimmie.
