For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 125 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 125 | I'm considering replacing the original bench seat in my 49 with something a bit more modern (and comfortable). I've seen a set of GMC seats on e-bay (came from an 04 model as I remember - the auction has ended) that have the seat belts (an upgrade that is a must as far as I'm concerned) as part of the seat. I'd rather have a 60/40 split seat than a set of buckets if I'm going to do this. If I do make this change, I'll probably hang on to the original seat.
My questions are: what should I be looking for if I'm going to do this? What are the pit falls of doing this (outside of the non-original stuff) and what will/might fit?
Any thoughts, positive or negative, are appreciated. I'm still tearing it down so it'll be a while before I have to worry about this particular problem.
Thanks in advance. | | |
