The teeth on one of my door handle relays and on one of my door window regulators are stripped badly (each on a different door). (The '54 3100 is the truck in question here.)

The mechanisms themselves work fine, but I can't get a handle on either one. My question is, can I have them machined (or something?) to bring the teeth back or am I likely to lose too much shaft diameter for my handles to work any more?

I looked at replacements for both, but 1) I don't really want to spend the money when the regulators still work, and 2) it just too hard to work in the door (we converted one door from a turn-down handle to a pushbutton and nearly ended up in family court!!).

Any advice would be appreciated.
