#16276 02/08/2004 4:39 AM | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 22 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 22 | I do not now if the block and crank are the same or not, but if these engines are anything like the 235 and 261 chevy engines, the block and crank are the same. The higher displacement of the 261 is achieved by larger diameter pistons and matching larger diameter piston bores in the block. The 261 uses a much more substantial connecting rods as compared to the 235.
