Assuming you still have the thread blocks in the door, it's as simple as righty-tighty. Save yourself some grief and order the correct mounting screws at the same time. As for structure, it's a hunk of plastic with a honeycomb interior. By design, they take a downward force better than a pull, and I wouldn't hang from one. You can use it as a door pull if your doors are aligned and latch easily, but I have seen many break around the mounting screw from slamming the door.
