I recently did a power steering upgrade on my '66, C-10. I opted for marking the shaft, cutting out the necessary amount, easing the edge of each side to create a notch for full-penetration welding, sanding and painting to match frame. I chose this over the sleeve provide in the kit. The result is a factory appearance with the luxury of power steering. I also saw in the Classic Performance kit they provide a 3/4" x 3/4" x 6" long piece of angle to realign the shaft ends prior to rewelding. This method or some other type of alignment is necessary to ensure the shaft has the correct geometry and staightness. I love the upgrade and it is money well spent, not to mention the satisfaction you get doing such a rewarding excercise.
