A Tennessee grasshopper is just exactly the right size to clog up the pickup tube in a 47 Mercury fuel tank. That car would run almost exactly 2 miles before the engine quit from fuel starvation- - - -repeatedly. It only took me three carburetors, two fuel pumps, and a flexible line between the firewall and the fuel pump to figure that one out back in 1962!
