Acrylic lacquer has been around a while. The stuff isn't all that much like the old lacquer but there are similarities. Usually those get thinned apx 130-150% with the final coat thinned around 200%. On the last coat, it is a good idea to use slow thinner. Use as little pressure as possible...that's really important. Too much pressure will cause orange peel and a lot of wasteful overspray plus you'll do a lot of sanding/polishing work on it. Note: I've found some colors require several (maybe as many as 8 or so) double coats. So it isn't really as economical as it might seem.
