When I took my original tank out, it had what was basically 30lb felt in the cradles and a couple strips of it where the straps contacted the tank.
I got some ~1/8" thick peel and stick roof underlayment that I had laying around and stuck it on the tank wherever the straps contacted the tank as well as on the two cradles. Works very well.
Even without that stuff I don't think the tank will move around.
