The resistance coil is not broken and looks fairly clean. I doused it down with DeoxIT (contact cleaner) with little success. I also ran a piece of 400 grit paper on the wiper then used a small wire brush on the sections I could reach with a Dremel. It improved but still is intermittent. What's the best way to clean the resistance coil?
