I tried everything on Ol' Roy and The Bismarck.

After no success with either one dimming or brightening the dash consistently, I wired the dash lights directly to the taillight terminal so the dashboard is always lit at full power whenever the taillights and headlights are on.

Of course I can't remember a single time in my life that I ever thought the dash lights were too bright and needed to be turned down. All my vehicles' dash lights are always turned up to full brightness.
