The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Interiors Headliner

I recently made a headliner from laminated heavy construction paper and glue as I explained a few months ago. I used the old one as a guide. I still haven't cut the openings for the interior shade pieces but the headliner came out just fine. What I did was to first use self-adhesive neoprene sponge as a sound deadener, next apply common HVAC foil backed fiberglass over that, next apply the cross bar to the front piece of headliner and paint that, next install that and finally install the rear piece. As for the sides, the length was trimmed to fit atop the windlace channel pieces so the windlace would cover them. I installed the headliner first and the windlace second and I used some wire lubricant to help with installing the windlace. Hope it helps. I chose a lighter color for the headliner. It is very hot here in the summer and I think that helps make the interior seem a bit cooler.
