Many thanks, I found several rebuild kits for 49 Hydrovac's online. It will be interesting to see what is on there now. If there's no hydrovac then I'll just have to put one on. I googled and found out that the 49 series 3000 two ton (didn't know there was such a thing) did not have hydrovac, and that the 49 "heavy duty" (meaning, I guess my 4800) sometimes did and sometimes did not. I know mine is a 4800 because the numbers are still clipped onto the side of the hood.
