I have a long history of building "sleepers"- - - -highly modified cheater engines that could fool the tech inspectors at the "street stock" inspection line at a bunch of oval tracks- - - -paved and dirt. There's nothing like having a "stock appearing" 216 engine with all modern parts inside, and 258 cubic inches! My patron saint was Smokey Yunick- - - - -the guy who knew how to bend the rules at Daytona to his advantage so well that they tried to ban his cars!
