I kept a spare set of points, condenser and a rotor in my glove box.
Off topic; but I had a 66gmc that would occasionally shut off. I figured out that I needed to tweak the dwell a bit.
I eventually got tired of doing that on the side of the road and inspected the dizzy. It was cracked and would rotate just enough to mess up my dwell setting.
