Quoting from the above manual page- - - - -"Connecting rod bearings- - - -pressure streams directed against connecting rod scoops"- - - - - -yes, it's a Babbit bearing spray-oiler. The valve train lube seems to have been updated to a similar system to the pressure-oiled 54-up 235. The idea of ANY 216 being a "splash-oiler" is a myth.
