Retorquing won't hurt anything regardless of gasket type. While I am not anal retentive, I always retorque head bolts and manifold bolts after the first run up to operating temperature. It's more superstition than anything, even though I am not superstitious, except for the numero ocho, which I refuse to recognize or utter in English.
