I thought I would kick off the weekend with a Buddy update:
Since installing proper battery cables so he can start and run as requested, we learned the water pump bearing was worn and leaked coolant faster than you could pour it in.
I removed the water pump (a little more challenging than a half ton) since the assembly for the compressor tensioner pulley is attached to a plate that is bolted over the water pump.
After much wrestling, the water pump was removed and sent to
Mike at Marvelous Parts in Oregon and he turned it around in about 3 weeks.
Installed the water pump, all the other belts and hoses were also replaced.
Now Buddy runs and drives! Once we get some tires replaced, we can drive further than to the mailbox (1/2 mile away)!!!
