A lot of people have wondered why these trucks have a throttle and choke cables. I just found another good use for having choke knob.
One time I had a hole form in the accelerator pump diaphragm of a YF2100 which cause an extreme rich condition to the point that it would stall at idle from an extreme rich condition.
I pulled the throttle knob out just far enough to keep the engine running while not moving. This allowed the excess gas to be burned instead of drowning my spark plugs. And, once again, I made it home just fine.
