On the 261 block I’m installing in my 1950 1 Ton, can the bell crank for the throttle linkage be installed in the hole after removing the pan head screw in the photo? The linkage that was installed on the 261 when I got it from the scrapyard is looking pretty nasty so I’d like to use the one from the 216 if possible. Both the pivot bolt and bell crank do not show signs of wear and worked perfectly when used on the 216 engine! I tried it in the hole to the right of where the screw is and will have to cobble up a complete new linkage.
